‘Asume la responsabilidad’: Ravi Shastri elogia a Bumrah tras su histórica victoria en Perth

La brillante actuación del capitán Jasprit Bumrah en la prueba de Perth aseguró la victoria número 295 de la India y le valió el premio al mejor jugador del partido en el Trofeo Border-Gavaskar.

Ravi Shastri praised Jasprit Bumrah for his brilliant performance in the Perth Test during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia. India took the lead in the series with a 295-run win, and Bumrah was named Player of the Match. In the first innings, India scored only 150 runs. However, Bumrah’s five-wicket haul gave India a crucial lead of 46 runs. In the second innings, he took three more wickets, including the key dismissal of Travis Head.

Ravi Shastri mentioned that Bumrah’s bowling with the new ball was crucial in both innings. “He enjoys the responsibility and is a very competitive and ambitious cricketer. He wants it and believes that he can do it,” Shastri told the broadcasters after the match.

Jasprit Bumrah was given the responsibility to lead the Indian team in Perth, as the regular captain Rohit Sharma was not part of the squad in the match due to personal commitments.

Wasim Akram’s praise for Bumrah

Wasim Akram also praised Bumrah for his captaincy, highlighting how Bumrah introduced himself into the attack during important moments, breaking key partnerships and dismissing Travis Head. “Whenever a partnership was developing, he brought himself into the attack. He picked up two wickets late on Day 3, and it started the downfall of Australian batting. Even today, he dismissed Travis Head when that partnership was building. That shows how much he wants it,” Akram said.

India’s historic win at Perth Stadium

Bumrah’s eight-wicket haul helped India become the first team to beat Australia at Perth Stadium. This win was significant as India had previously lost at the same venue in 2018 despite a century from Virat Kohli. Bumrah is close to becoming India’s top wicket-taker in Tests on Australian soil. India aims for a 2-0 series lead in the upcoming pink-ball Test starting December 6 at Adelaide Oval.
