India has an impeccable record in the three-day/night Tests they have played at home. However, their sole pink-ball Test on foreign soil, played in Australia, ended in a crushing defeat where they were bowled out for just 36 runs in one innings.

What happened the last time India played pink ball Test in Adelaide?

In the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020/21, India opted to bat first and posted a total of 244 runs, with then-captain Virat Kohli leading the charge with a composed 74-run knock. Australia’s pace duo Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins were instrumental with the ball, claiming four and three wickets, respectively. In response, Australia faltered and were bowled out for 191, largely due to a brilliant spell by India’s R Ashwin, who dismantled the batting lineup with four crucial wickets.
