The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have splashed a whopping Rs 44 crore to sign the duo of KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj. This is true but only as per a ‘mock’ IPL auction, organized by Jio Cinema. The RCB franchise was represented by former head coach Mike Hesson, who has played part with real auctions for four years with the franchise. KL Rahul is expected to be one of the most hottest properties at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah following his release by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

KL Rahul to RCB for almost Rs 30 crore

It’s quite clear that majority of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans want to see KL Rahul back in the team for IPL 2025. At the IPL mock auction, the bid started from Rs 10 crore for KL Rahul. For the mega star, it was a straight tussle between the Delhi Capitals (DC), led by Aakash Chopra and RCB. DC, who failed to get any of Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Jos Buttler, raised the bid to Rs 29 crore. Then, the final bid came by the RCB, who splashed almost Rs 30 crore for their star local boy.

RCB are in the hunt for a new skipper after releasing Faf du Plessis ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. The team has ruled out handing captaincy back to Virat Kohli at the moment, which means that they will need a new skipper. One is a player who has been previously associated with RCB – “son of the soil” KL Rahul. RCB have retained only three players – Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal – ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. Rahul’s ability – both with bat and as captain – make him a perfect pick for RCB.
