La Junta de Críquet de Pakistán se vio obligada a cancelar el campeonato nacional femenino después de que se produjera un incendio en el hotel del equipo en Karachi.
Pakistan women cricketers had a close shave on Monday after a fire broke out in the team hotel. This forced the Pakistan Cricket Board to curtail the ongoing National Women’s Championship in Karachi. Although no player was injured, five cricketers were present at the hotel when the fire broke out.
Fire forces Pakistan to curtain National Women’s Championship
As per reports, all five players who were present at the hotel were evacuated by the PCB. They were taken to Hanif Mohammad High-Performance centre. PCB explained that its decision to truncate the tournament was taken keeping in mind the health and safety of the players.
“Fortunately, no players were injured, as the PCB promptly evacuated the five players in the hotel at the time of the incident and relocated them safely to the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre,” the PCB said in a statement.

To determine the winners of the tournament, the PCB has decided to organize the final between Invincibles and Stars – the top two sides after each team has played four matches each. The venue and date for the final is still undecided.
“Additionally, the unavailability of alternative accommodations to meet the approximately 100 rooms of the required standards contributed to this outcome,” said the PCB statement.
“To determine the tournament winner, the PCB has decided that the Invincibles and the Stars – the top-two teams after four matches each – will face off in the final. The date and venue for the final will be announced in due course,” the statement added.
