Together, the duo conceded 83 runs for zero wickets in the 2nd T20I against Australia. Both Afridi and Naseem tasted little success in T20Is and rather aced their role in ODIs. In T20Is, Naseem Shah has taken 25 wickets so far while Afridi has 96 wickets to his name.

The duo were a part of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup team as well but failed to fire as Babar Azam and co. crashed out of the tournament in the group stage. Shaheen Afridi was named the T20I skipper earlier this year only to be replaced by Babar Azam after just one series.

Poor performances in the recent past from Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah do not warrant for their inclusion in Pakistan’s XI in T20Is. Instead, the side has other younger bowlers as options to replace the veteran duo. Australia have sealed the series 2-0, with one more game left to go.

This win ensured the series win for Australia, and the wait for Pakistan continues as they have yet to secure a win a match against the mighty Aussies in T20Is on Australian soil.
